From March 24 to 26, 2025, Ablestate hosted a 3-day Digital for Teams Session at Hyde Innovations in Kampala. The workshop was designed to bridge a gap that shows up repeatedly in the workplace: teams that have talent but lack the digital fluency and interpersonal tools to work together effectively at speed.
Over the three days, participants worked through a mix of facilitated sessions, group challenges, and hands-on exercises. The curriculum was structured around two core areas: digital tools and soft skills — because at Ablestate we believe that technical competence without the ability to communicate, collaborate, and problem-solve is only half the picture.
What Participants Learned
The workshop covered a focused set of competencies that translate directly to the modern workplace:
- Digital productivity tools — using collaborative platforms to plan, track, and deliver work as a team
- Problem-solving frameworks — structured approaches to breaking down challenges and making decisions under pressure
- Communication and feedback — how to give and receive feedback constructively, and how to communicate clearly across different working styles
- Team collaboration — practical techniques for working across different roles, skill levels, and personalities
- Productivity and time management — managing workload, setting priorities, and staying focused in a distraction-heavy environment
The Format
Sessions were intentionally kept active and applied rather than lecture-heavy. Participants spent more time doing than listening — tackling real scenarios in small groups, presenting their approaches, and receiving feedback from facilitators and peers in real time. This reflects Ablestate’s core belief that skills are only truly absorbed when they are practised, not just explained.
Hyde Innovations provided the venue and were a fantastic host, offering a professional, energising environment that matched the intensity of the program.
“The goal wasn’t just to teach tools. It was to help teams see how the right skills and the right mindset work together to get things done.”
