Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can apply for Ablestate’s courses?
Our programs are open to young people in East Africa from school leavers to early-career professionals. You don’t need prior coding experience for beginner tracks. What matters most is motivation, commitment, and a willingness to learn. We also specifically welcome refugees and learners from underserved communities.
How much do the courses cost?
Ablestate offers subsidised and scholarship-based programs to make digital training accessible. Our career development support is completely free for all graduates. During your application consultation, we’ll discuss fee structures, scholarship availability, and what’s right for your situation.
How do I apply?
You can apply via our website contact form, WhatsApp, email, or in person at our Kampala office. After you apply, a one-on-one consultation with our Program Lead will help us understand your goals and match you to the right learning track.
How long are the courses?
Course duration varies by track and level. Beginner-focused tracks typically run 812 weeks. Full-Stack and advanced programs may run longer. Our Talent Fellowship (when available) is a 3-month full-time intensive. Specific timelines are shared during your application consultation.
Are the courses online or in-person?
We offer both in-person sessions at our Kampala location and online access where applicable. Some intensive programs are designed to be onsite to maximise collaboration and mentorship. We’ll confirm the format for your selected track during onboarding.
What happens after I complete a course?
You don’t just graduate and disappear. Every completer receives a portfolio review, LinkedIn optimisation, and connection to our talent placement network. We actively share job leads, provide mock interview coaching, and stay in contact through our alumni WhatsApp group and mailing list. Many graduates have secured roles or launched ventures years after completing.
How can organisations partner with Ablestate?
We welcome partnerships with employers looking to hire digital talent, NGOs and funders supporting youth development, organisations seeking digital training for their teams, and community groups who want to refer candidates. Get in touch via our Contact page and we’ll set up a conversation.
